Kay Kopit is now a healthy person, loving mother and wife. Her community, neighbors and yes-even friends do not know the journey she has been on to get to her healthy self. Kay is in appreciation to her recovery and has written and produced a documentary on her life with a chronic alcoholic and her silent illness, codependency. She is sharing her story to give hope and to educate the public on the disease of codependency. Recently, two words have become popular in studying the Psychology of Relationships. They are codependence and co-commitment.
Following is an article that Kay wrote and was published in Recovery Times, A Journal for a New Way of Life, January 13, 2004.
Kay has been a guest on The Edge with Kathy Fettke, KNEW, San Francisco and Recovery Radio, LA. There will be more information on interviews within the next 2 weeks.
Kay has a prominent publisher reviewing her book and is in hope that her story will be available in book form in the near future.

Spanish Property World , today launched it’s unique guide to renting a car in Spain.
From the basics of choosing a car hire company in Spain, for your holiday or business trip to Spain, to picking up your rent a car from any airport in Spain , it’s all laid out in detail.
Discount Car bookings options are available from Carrentals and Holiday Autos.
Detailed instruction on how to find the car rentals desks of Avis Malaga,Hertz at Malaga, Helle Hollis, Crown Car Hire Malaga,Pepecar,Niza and National Atesa
All the main airports are covered with some interesting advice and information available on the larger Airports. Malaga Car Hire, for example is the biggest rental point for Holiday Autos but the prices are incredibley competitive.
We have found that Barcelona Car Hire is not as popular as say Alicante Car Hire or Palma Car Hire and this is mainly to do with the nature of the traveller and holidays to these different destinations. Most people head to Barcelona for a long weekend break and are happy to hop into a taxi where as when people head for the traditional holiday resorts they normally have a two week break booked and need a car to explore the surrounding areas.
Unusally both Girona Car Hire and Reus Car Hire are very popular but this can be explained by their location. Girona Airport for example is one of Ryanairs main European Hubs and has flights landing everyday from 21 different European Airports. Unfortunately the transport facilities at the airport are not that great. It is simply cheaper and easier to hire a car at Girona Airport and head under your own steam to your holiday destiantion.
The site now covers in detail car hire in Spain’s most popular coastal areas including the; Costa de la Luz, Costa del sol, Costa Blanca, Costa Brava, Costa Tropical, Costa Almeria, Costa Dorada, Costa Calida, Canary Islands and Balearic Islands.
Spanish Property World also contains more than 10,000 Spanish Properties for sale in some of Spain’s most popular coastal areas. In addition to in depth coverage of local areas, amenities, attractions and buying advice Spanish Property World also features an extensive range of New developments and Commercial property listings.

Just published — Credit card insider Andrew Rowland’s debut novel “Dancing on the Brink of the World”:
Conor Morgan has the perfect plan: recruit a team with hearts of larceny to pull off the greatest techno-heist in modern banking history.
The stakes: close to a trillion dollars. The target: neXus, the world’s premier credit and debit card payments system, operated by the power of invisible money.
With futurist weapons inspired by Zulu and Mongol battle strategies, the crew crashes neXus computer systems worldwide in a daring transcontinental robbery. But a Delta hit team of Enforcers hunt them down as Morgan’s plan unravels.
Dancing on the Brink of the World is interwoven with elements of the mysterious. Recurrent prime numbers and echoing supersymmetries converge in a morality tale of friendship and trust, betrayal and vengeance.
In San Francisco and London, Morgan’s team is on the run from the most sinister assassin since Jack the Ripper, with a ransom of untraceable diamonds, a dazzlingly erotic heroine and the ghostly messengers of ancient Celtic gods.
“Authentic as today’s dispatches from the 21st century battleground of cyber warfare, chilling and funny and brilliantly observed. A tour de force, infused with the carousing spirits of dreamy Irish rebels. Brendan Behan would be proud.”
~ Kristine Rosemary, author of “The War Against Gravity.”
“Credit card crime is hot news,” Andrew Rowland said at his home in London. “My novel describes the biggest robbery in criminal history. It takes the lid off the way the credit card industry works, and reveals how vulnerable the banking computer systems really are. In the best traditions of Clancy and Forsyth, the technical details are based upon meticulous research and my extensive qualifications as a mainframe computer realtime banking systems expert. Every aspect of the robbery plan – from the electromagnetic bombs, to the ability to bypass biometric ID passports and fingerprint intrusion systems — would work in real life. As a former Silicon Valley systems programmer I gained an intimate knowledge of all aspects of card fraud and the interchange between the worldwide credit and banking industries. A credit card robbery of this magnitude, with authentic technical and location detail, is perhaps unprecedented in heist and thriller novels of this genre.”
“Bankers who hire money hungry geniuses should not always express surprise and amazement when some of them turn around with brilliant, creative and illegal means of making money.”
~ Linda Davies, investment banker and bond trader turned novelist, in a 1997 speech to central bankers and financiers at a conference on the European Monetary Union in Amsterdam.
The story for “Dancing on the Brink of the World” came about in a similar way. Part of Andrew’s job description as a realtime systems troubleshooter in San Francisco was a remit to detect bank and card fraud within the company, or any of its 21,000 member banks worldwide. During graveyard shift lulls, Andrew and his colleagues brainstormed ingenious ways whereby opportunists with inside information could rob the major credit card companies blind. Andrew ran the novel’s scenario past some of the best minds in the business. First they laughed. Then they thought about the audacity and complexity of the plot. Unanimously, they agreed: this could really work. That’s when Andrew began amassing authentic detail to plot his novel about a neXus takedown, a financial thriller with a metaphysical twist, set in the no-limit, high stakes world of computer crime, with San Francisco and London backdrops.
“Vivid descriptions of the atmosphere and settings of San Francisco, lovely detail about Lotus race cars and amusing asides on the various “Da Vinci Code” topics all combine to make fascinating reading.
The book is likely to generate some controversy due to the author’s way of comforting the afflicted and afflicting the comfortable, but this does tend to make for an eye-opening and sometimes illuminating read.
Highly recommended. Engaging story, absorbing characters and first rate prose style. With adept marketing, “Dancing on the Brink of the World” could find an audience worldwide in America and Canada, England, Europe, Australia. The book has won some stellar reviews from first readers at amazon.com in the USA and UK. A stunning literary prospect with every chance of international success.”
Since 1977 Andrew Rowland has worked on three continents as an airline and banking realtime computer expert. Past TPF consultancies include British Airways (London), Saudi Arabian Airlines (Jeddah), Galileo (Swindon), Continental Airlines (Miami), Amadeus (Stuttgart, Miami), SNCF (Lille, Paris), American Airlines (Tulsa), VISA (San Francisco, McLean), and United Airlines (Denver). Andrew spent seven years as a systems troubleshooter for the world’s dominant card payments platform, headquartered in Silicon Valley. He lives in London and writes online about geopolitics and society. This is his first novel.

The World Health Organisation has confirmed what many people had believed for years, namely that the Costa Blanca is one of the healthiest areas of the world in which to live. This isn’t surprising to those people who know the region. The Costa Blanca has an excellent year-round climate. The humidity is relatively low, and therefore ideal for sufferers of arthritis and other climatically influenced health problems.
The landscape of the Northern Costa Blanca, contrasts significantly with the area to the South of Alicante, with high peaks and breathtaking mountain views. The deep valley’s lined with almond trees, rich soil, green vegetation, orange and lemon groves, olive trees and vineyards. The Jalon valley is a truly beautiful sight particularly in January and February when the almond blossom is in bloom.
Water sports of every kind can be found in most resorts in the Costa Blanca. There are modern marina’s making it a perfect base for yachtsmen and it’s only fifty miles or so due East to the magical cruising area of the Balearic Islands.
Of course for some people the Costa Blanca beaches are a big attractions, the majority of which are kept wonderfully clean. Whilst for others it’s the beautiful golf courses such as Villamartin, manicured to perfection and situated amongst orange groves and palm trees.
Torrevieja, situated next to the sea in the south of the Costa Blanca region is surrounded by two beautiful and large natural saltwater lagoons which form the well-known “Salterns of Torrevieja” considered the biggest in Europe and second in the world.
A new website http://www.villamartingolf.org.uk has been developed which provides further information about the area. This includes details of flights into Alicante and Murcia, various car hire companies that operate from the two airports, information on the many championship golf courses, beautiful beaches, numerous things to do and places to visit.
